You are looking at one of the toughest buses ever to hit the highway, a 1994 MCI 102D3. MCI built these buses to go 3 MILLION miles! This coach has the bells and whistles that you would expect in a tour bus. Inside it is very well appointed with deluxe seating, reading lights, overhead ventilation, and overhead luggage racks! The seats have lots of features like footrests, armrests, recent upholstery and reclining seatbacks. Overall the interior is in excellent condition and the fabric used is one of the best looking out there. Tons of additional storage space is found in the three huge luggage bays accessed from outside the bus.
In the second luggage bay you will see the optional auxilary fuel tank. Fuel capacity on this coach is a massive 272 gallons! That gives this bus a range of well over a thousand miles on a single tank of fuel! The exterior of this straight, WEST COAST coach just received a fresh white paint job and looks fantastic. Moving on to the rear of the bus we get to the power plant, a Detroit Diesel Series 60 turbocharged diesel engine. The Series 60 engine is world renowned for its power and reliability. This engine was replaced in 2001 with a Detroit Diesel Reliabilt unit! These “crate” motors from Detroit are top of the line re-manufactured units and not a cheap in-frame. It runs just like it should with plenty of power. It even has a Jake Brake to make those mountain passes a breeze.
The shifting duties are handled by an Allison 748 4 speed automatic transmission. Allison is the world leader in heavy duty automatic transmissions. The tranny shifts great through the gears with no slipping. The tires are all Firestone FS400’s with decent tread remaining. All of the glass on the coach is in good shape with no cracks. This bus would be perfect for a tour company, church small business, sports team, RV conversion or just about anything you can think of!
